Dlink dir-615 dd-wrt flashing help?

which do i flash first? im still d-link firmware
D-Link DIR-615 rev C1 Firmware: Special image for initial flashing
OR
D-Link DIR-615 rev C1 Firmware: Webflash image
please HELP Do NOT want to brick my router.

You start with the Special image for initial flashing. That should work if you have never upgraded the factory firmware, I think that's version 3.01. If it fails you will get a message that says the firmware you are trying to load is wrong, it won't brick the router, it just simply won't load.

If that happens, then you have to use a hex editor, and edit the end of the firmware file, there are instructions on how to do it in the dd-wrt user forum. I'll post this, and see if I can get you a link.
